My Awair displays a 4-digit code and I’m unable to pair via Bluetooth.
If your Awair’s LED display shows a 4-digit code after you unbox or factory reset your Awair, try the following to connect successfully.
- Make sure your Android App is current! Uninstalling and then reinstalling the app from the Google Play Store will guarantee your app is up to date.
- When it’s time to pair with your Awair, your app will open your Android’s Bluetooth settings, where you can select AWAIR-XXXXXX (this is a randomized 6 digit code). The code to pair with your Awair will be “00” then the 4-digit code on your Awair’s display. Tap the back button to return to the Awair App and resume setup.
- If you were unable to pair over Bluetooth, you can try again by initiating a factory reset (instructions here).

My phone’s operating system is Android 8.0 and I’m unable to pair via Bluetooth.
After exploring several options, we were unable to develop a patch to fix the issues introduced with Android 8.0. Unfortunately, this version of Android’s operating system is currently incompatible with Awair.
Please note that this issue only affects the setup and factory reset process. Android Oreo users with existing Awair products can continue to use all features on your app and interact with their products.
If you’d like to use your Android 8.0 phone with Awair, we recommend the following workarounds:
- Option 1: The quickest and simplest way to setup your product is to use another phone with a compatible operating system (such as iOS or an older version of Android). Read the tips we compiled below for using this workaround.
- Option 2: If possible, upgrade your phone to Android 8.1 then see note below.
Please note that this process may need to be repeated if you initiate a factory reset for your Awair or Awair Glow. We urge users who continue to have issues with this version of Android to reach out to us so we can help with some custom solutions, if possible.
We sincerely apologize for the strain and burden this issue has caused our users, and we want to do whatever we can to get your Awair products online. Please reach out to us, we’d love to help!

We developed a patch that addresses the compatibility issues with Awair and Android 8.1. This patch requires that your Awair is first connected to Wi-Fi to upgrade its firmware version. Below are the workaround options to help Android 8.1 users set up Awair and upgrade its firmware. After your Awair is upgraded, you will not need to complete this process again.

- Option 2: Our Support team is alternatively able to service your Awair so that it will be compatible with Android 8.1 phones. We’ll cover the costs of shipping your Awair to our Care Center, upgrade your Awair, and ship it back to you. We expect the service to take no longer than 5 business days, including shipping time.
