Process
How to Reset Awair Omni
There are two ways to reset your Awair Omni:
A. Reboot (also known as a power cycle)
B. Hard Reboot
A. Reboot (also known as a power cycle)
Rebooting a product is usually the first step in troubleshooting. Hence, if Awair Omni exhibits any unusual behavior, the first step is to:
Side Button Reboot
- Press and hold the power button on for 5 seconds until your Omni's display dims and the power is down.
- Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn your Omni back on. It will automatically reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
Reset Button Reboot
- Carefully remove the Omni device from its wall mount.
- Press and hold the RESET button with a pin briefly (1 second is fine, but do not let the Factory Reset progress bar reach 100%). (Note: The Factory Reset button is located to the right of the power adapter port, on the rear-end of the device.)
A progress bar appears on the LED display and moves from left to right. - Upon successful reboot, the Awair logo appears, then disappears on Omni’s display.
B. Hard Reboot
In rare cases, an Omni may require troubleshooting, but the device is unresponsive. With the display on, this can be diagnosed by trying to press the side button and the display carousel does not start looping through sensor names and values. If the Omni display is off, an unresponsive device can be diagnosed by listening for a faint fan noise on the left side. In either of these cases, a reboot will also not power off the device after 5 seconds (in the case of the display being off, the fan will not shutdown after 5 seconds of holding down the side button. In this situation, you can perform a "Hard Reboot":
- Press and hold the power button on for 20 seconds until your Omni's display dims and the power is down (or the fan turns off).
- Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn your Omni back on. A "Hard Reboot" does not erase the WiFi settings, and Omni will automatically reconnect to the WiFi network.
C. Factory Reset
A Factory Reset will disconnect your device from its current Wi-Fi network and reset your Awair Omni back to the state it was in when you first received the device.
Note: Resetting your Awair Omni will not delete any historical data saved in the Awair Cloud. In the case of "Offline Data Backfill for Awair Omni", data saved offline will persist until uploaded, even after a Factory Reset.
How to Factory Reset Your Omni
- Carefully remove the Omni device from its wall mount.
- Press and hold the RESET button with a pin for approximately 10 seconds. (Note: The Factory Reset button is located to the right of the power adapter port, on the rear-end of the device.)
A progress bar appears on the LED display and moves from left to right. - Upon successful factory reset, the Awair logo appears, then disappears on Omni’s display.
